Icing Ball Screens

My team currently runs a switching pressure man-to-man defensive system. I believe a great compliment to this system is Icing ball screens. We have been successful choosing one way to guard ball screens and doing it really well.

When in ICE coverage the goal is to send the ball to the baseline. By doing this our hope is to not need a third defender involved. The defender guarding the ball handler must get "extra high half" with the intent of making the ball handler refuse the screen. The defender guarding the screener gets in between the ball and the basket. How deep his position is depends on the ball handlers ability to shoot.

Work on defending common actions such as: basket cuts, down screens, flare screens, ball screens, DHOs, guarding the drive, etc. This is a great way to prepare for your scout/game plan using your m2m
