Eight Ways to Build a Defensive Culture

1. Attack mentality (disruptive, aggressive, disciplined)

2. Give them a picture (show game film of practice drills working)

3. Defensive individuals (work on individual development)

4. Have a hustle chart and rewards

5. Practice culture: no fouls, no out of bounds, don’t stop until defensive gains possession

6. Organized chaos

7. Utilize drills that create difficult situations to defend (overload drills)

8. Don’t become a prisoner to your rules (adjust)
